At 7.14am on the morning of the 30 June 1908, something massive and totally unexpected entered the earths atmosphere traveling at 33,500 mph exploding violently in the air at an altitude of somewhere between 5 to 10 km releasing the energy of 1000 Hiroshima bombs. The resulting shockwave and fireball flattened 2200 square km of forrest, 80 million trees were levelled in an instant. The earth gets hit by huge pieces of rocks all the time. Are we safe ? Is there anything we can do ? Has it happened before ?
