Dr Harold Shipman was an extremely well respected local GP in Hyde Greater Manchester. A likeable man of the community caring for young and old. This charming educated man also happens to be a serial killer and between 1975 and 1998 he murdered at least 236 people during his 24 year medical career, mostly by massive drug overdose. He is possible the most prolific serial killer on record.
